I took the plunge and visited Katie's future daycare this morning. Wow. Talk about a slap in the face in terms of facing reality. While she won't start there for a couple of weeks, I wanted to go ahead and get a feel for the lay of the land, get familiar with the teachers, how they run the facility, etc. Given that I already had received excellent testimonials from two friends, I already knew pretty much what to expect, but it was still incredibly hard to visit and picture Katie being there 8 hours/day.
In many ways, I keep thinking that this isn't really going to happen. I guess I have another thing coming because the countdown is officially on. She starts March 11th.
A very bittersweet day.
